On a sep issue.....I have the 266 crankshaft....is that ok?

Just a generic comment on your crankshaft: The 290 used pop-up pistons and the crankshaft requires a different balance for the heavier pistons.
I don't know (yet) how the factory did the different balance for the 290 or the correct numbers on the crank(s?).

Yes, a dome on top as opposed to a flat-top piston. Back in the day we called them pop-up pistons.

Since I have your attention...I could expertise on another hard to get part. The elusive 3768152.....59 generator U bracket for FI Hi-Lift.

Is this it...before i buy it?
Its not stamped and according to my research...it shouldnt be.....and the dimension appear correct.

I found this generator bracket (pictured below) at a swap meet in Thompson, CT, last Saturday. I believe that it might be bracket # 3768152 for a mid-59 through 1960 Corvette w/F.I. The dimensions are very close to the drawing shown on page 291 of N. Adams 1953-1963 restoration book.
My bracket does have an extra hole which appears to be original but I'm not really sure. Someone may have drilled the hole so that the bracket could be used on a different application. As shown below my bracket dimensions (as best as I can measure them with a ruler) are very close to those in the drawing.

My bracket dimensions vs. (drawing dimensions):
O.L. = 7 1/16 or 7.06" (7.117"/7.100")
1 3/16" or 1.19" (1.17")
4 9/16" or 4.56" (4.55")
1 5/16" or 1.31" (1.38")
1/2" or 0.50" (0.50")
1 1/8" or 1.125" (1.12")
two 1/2" dia holes (15/32")
two 3/8" holes at ends (11/32")
1 5/8" height or 1.625" (1.62")
1 3/16" or 1.19" (1.135"/1.165")
7/16" offset or 0.44" (0.46")

you may be onto something there. According to the same reference book by Adams....the only other U bracket that had 3 holes was part 3725671.....for the 1962 base engine and the dimensions are different. Do u concur?
I have the diagram and can send it for comparison?

I have a 3725671 bracket in my collection. Unfortunately it has an extra drilled hole. The drilled hole is at the "256" of the "K-3725671" part number. The dimensions agree with your drawing.

Enclosed are two photos comparing the two brackets. The 3725671 bracket is on the left side on the bottom photo.

Well I'd say that confirms it.
I also notice there are indented rims on the two end holes ...but not the third hole.
Id say u are in the possession of a 152.
