correct generator bracket for a 1959 & symbol ID

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me what this symbol means and if this looks like the correct generator bracket for a pre 12/59 FI?
It fits all the descriptions I've researched on the forum....bends to the rear.. but there are no markings besides a PR?

I believe that signifies a Paragon reproduction part. I recall seeing that before. Dan

Since I have your attention...I could expertise on another hard to get part. The elusive 3768152.....59 generator U bracket for FI Hi-Lift.

Is this it...before i buy it?
Its not stamped and according to my research...it shouldnt be.....and the dimension appear correct.

The 3750876 and 3768152 generator brackets are essential "mirror images" of each other. There are shop drawings showing dimensions of the two brackets in Noland Adam's 53-62 restoration book on page 291. If you do not have the book send me a PM.

BTW, I have about 40 to 50 Chevrolet & Corvette alternator and generator braces in my garage. I have a brace similar in shape to Richard's "AAC" brace that I will check out tomorrow.

Greg, That AAC brace I have is for a project I have here so I can't let it go. Dave is your man.

In this recent POST there are some pdf's with photos that may help. See Addendums A & B of the 1st pdf. Note that the end holes are offset and the short space should face the sky.

That 3768172 bracket in your photo looks like the manifold mount holes have been ovalled out. I don't think you want that one. Is your generator a 1102173?

Dave, would you agree? I don't have my Noland's C1 book handy but my bracket has 'round' holes.

im actually a newbie at this...so hopefully I can pick your brain in the future.
im actually building a 1959 FI 290hp from scratch.....,oh and I've never built an engine before. )

i actually think I have the drawings your referring too.....and the drawing of the 152 is what i used to compare to the pics I posted.
which is the one I need for the 59.

Greg, I edit/added to my post above so you may want to reread it again.

I learned much/most from all of the gents here over the last 30 years so all here can assist. Check in often when you're building that engine. Lot's of info here to help streamline the build.

Try to get a Noland Adams 1953-1962 book if you can, but not in print anymore. I seem to recall a CD version around somewhere though. Probably get yourself a 1958-1960 Judging Guide too. NCRS store has them.

Rich, I haven't bought the generator yet....but it will b the 73 yes.
And I agree I did notice the holes were changed.
I am going to get the Nolan book and I ordered the NCRS judging book....still waiting for it.

oh and I printed your pdfs a while ago and have been using them as a guide for the timing assembly.....the correct harmonic balancer still eludes me.

Enclosed in the link below is a photo of the generator braces in my collection. They do not look like exactly the "AAC" brace. I will check them tomorrow.

question...

i own a 1959....not a matching numbers car... has a chevy 350 in it. So I'm building the 290hp FI ...as a project...not necessarily to put in the car...but i could if someday i decided too.....
my question is....for NCRS purposes... my car has a 6/29/59 birthday ....im using a January 1 - June 31 date range for parts.
my block is 5/14/59 and the heads are matching numbers 1/21/59....is that ok?
