Re: Scan Tool
The last time I checked (a few years ago), many new scanners had OBI and OBII adapters and capability.
I wouldn't be surprised if today fewer supported OBI as that technology gets older, but you might check.

Re: Scan Tool
Here is one from Actron. CP9001. New.
Ebay will likely have some earlier model used ones.

Re: Scan Tool
I bought one that connects to my laptop, and one that connects to my iPad via Bluetooth. The pair (Amazon, I believe) was cheaper than buying one tool locally. I've used them on a couple of cars now, and they work great.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Re: Scan Tool
Your going to have to buy a used Snap On scanner to use on a OBD1 and OBD2. The one I use is about 20 years old but works very well. I have tried to use newer ones with no luck.- Top

Re: Scan Tool
I purchased an Innova in 2009 through Amazon but put it on the shelf after I purchased a newer model that will pull codes for ABS. They still show this model as available. There is another that they say is OBD1 and OBD2 compliant and will also look at ABS. Go to Amazon and paste this into the search window. I never used the 3140 on an OBD1 vehicle so I can't say for sure whether it is in fact compliant.

I have and use an Innova 3140. It does work for both OBD I & II but not ABS. I've used it for both OBD I & II and it works fine. At the time I bought it, to get ABS functionality you could only also get OBD II. Having OBD I and OBD II was more important to me than having only OBD II and ABS.
The Innova 3140 works fine on my 1992 Corvette, so I'm sure it will work as well for a 1993, the subject of the OP's inquiry. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Scan Tool
Its been awhile, but as remember, aside from the Tech1 the snap-on MT2500 was about the best thing out there for the OBD-1 GMs. They pop up on Ebay pretty often, just make sure you're getting the correct cable and personality key for your application.- Top
