I have almost finished installing the new carpet in my 69 convertible. All the pieces fit ok with a little t******* here and there. I was very pleased with my progress until I started installing the two pieces that fit over the rear wheel wells on each side. I thought the carpet was molded to fit but not so here. It took me forever to finally decide which piece to put on which side (I'm talking days). I finally was able to figure it out by looking at the shape of some pieces in a catalog that I had. This carpet was not molded to the shape of the wheel wells. I had to do quite a bit of t******* before I was even able to begin. This is my first attempt at installing carpet on any car so I am a rookie. Is it possible to use a heat gun or hair dryer to help mold this carpet to the shape of the wheel wells. I have not attempted to apply any glue yet. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

Re: Another 69 Carpet Question
Hi Thomas,
I realized while working on the wheel well carpet on my 71 that the tendency may be to push the piece to far to the rear.
The forward end of the carpet needs to extend a distance that is long enough for it to be tucked down between the back side of the steel seat bulkhead and the forward end of the fiberglass wheel well. I'd say as much as an inch of it may disappear between the two.
Perhaps this might that help you with your installation?
Regards,
Alan
