    Hi Peter; NTP all the way. But I like(d) it at the time. Didn't know any better. By now, it has been changed to something more typical.

      I suspect because this is under the battery the shield tends to corrode so it was replaced and no W/S was used.

      Be absolutist sure to pull the w/s as far into the shield as as possible.
      I installed the weather-stripping on my right side of my 63 shield and was unable to get it installed after that. So I reinstalled the original without and weather-stripping for now. Giant Pain in the *.

      Below is a picture taken without the weather-stripping installed. Just little to no clearance for the W/S.
      My battery box is a repop. Like usual it is suspect on its fit. I would test fit the shield to confirm there is room for the w/s. If not one could trim the piece some and it would be hidden under the w/s. This was one of those "simple jobs" that became a nightmare to get right. I hope you have better luck than I did.
