Greg, that does not look like the 63/64 wheel the rear side should be tapered, they appear to flat. If you need a pic send me a pm with your email.

Greg, Definitely not a 63-64 wheel. Many posts on this subject and pics. Maybe someone will pull one up for you. John

From my understanding from these forums (related pics from these forums).

- 63-E64 look similar
- L64 has hole in raised face
- Should have [GM] stamp on ext face, no other markings
- Small valve hole
- Two raised nubs by valve hole
- Tapered interior
- Welded
- Stamp not visible without removing tire [15 x 5 1/2 K] [YY M]

Starting w/ 65 notched to make room for disk brakes
63-66 Service replacements (3838080) have another slight notch and ext markings

Here are some pics of 63 wheels. Note the rear taper. 64's look the same except for a 'drain hole" drilled in the spider, IIRC

Thanks, everyone. I was able to see many posts on the subject but when it came to seeing a picture I was unsure. Had I seen the wheels in person I think I would have gotten by. The pics helped very much!

Those look like my drawings from the 1990's.

Enclosed are tracings of the stampings on a Jan. 1963 Corvette wheel and a Jan. 1964 Corvette wheel.

Thanks Dave, more great pics to add to my local archive. I knew I found those pic here somewhere but unsure who to provide credit. I tend to save off the pictures for easier access later (vs combing through years of message posts).

I really wish we (NCRS) had an online picture archive sorted by year and judging section for reference (in color ). I know this is not a new topic but it would be nice. As a new member I've learned so much from the knowledge of this forum, but a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Agree with you on pictures however that's a lot of WORK for somebody. Hope NCRS is saving all these pictures for some future time.
