    C2 1966 Engine Pad Help

Need help with this pad. I am looking at this car, 1966 Convertible L72. Owner claims original engine. Before I spend additional time, and ask owner to clean the pad, is the stamping typical of production?

    Thanks Frank

Mineral spirits won't get it done.............but lacquer thinner will. Also paint remover.

      Use NO ABRASIVES.

                Frank,

Nothing wrong with what I see. Broach marks intact and characters look good.

Wait for the expert. He will chime in!

The "P" only looks light compared with the front end, the other end, of the ASM number. Looks like that string of numbers gets less deep as you read from left to right. This probably happened on half the stamps in 1966. I would not be worried.

The fonts look good and the grain looks good. It is just struck heavy on the T side which makes it light on the P side.
