70 power steering pump nut finish

What is the finish for the nut on the power steering bracket on a 70 sb. This is the nut that is used to fasten the pump to the bracket once adjusted for belt tension.

    Thank you,

    Bill

      Thank you Joe.

Thought so but also remember that not many nuts were zinc plated.

Yes, many nuts and bolts used on Corvettes were of "plain" finish and many others were black phosphate-finished. However, nuts and bolts that were part of an "adjustment system", as in this case, were usually zinc plated.

          Makes complete sense Joe.

          Thank you again.
