    Bloomington Gold

Any comments about the show at Indy??
Lots of cars but I thought the swap meet was weak.
I have a friend who wanted a space but was told they were sold out, I don't get it?

We had a vendor spot but, didn't walk around the swap meet. I judged 9 68/69 cars, on Friday. The judging field was pretty full, on Friday. Special Collection had some great cars.
Seems to me, there is something for everybody. The venue is great and it's easy to get to. Guy Larsen and his crew are working hard to make it an enjoyable, worthwhile event.
    Long live Bloomington Gold.

I couldn't agree more! I had my 67 there for judging and had a great time. I been going to Bloomington since 1985 and hopefully it will be around for many more years to come.
My hats off to Guy Larsen for a job well done.

Had our 67 435 judged declared it NOM as per new rules state you can get a gold with a NOM engine .Our point loss was 185 off of a total of 8,500 points that's 98% 95% gets you a gold. We got a silver. Can't get a reason for this .Any one know the answer to there method of tabulating points ????

worst bloomington show ever for early C1s. no vendors had early C1 parts. judging area had no 53 or 54 corvettes. the sale coral was lucky if it had a dozen cars, mostly C3 plastic bumper cars. if you don't come in a corvette, the parking is the furthest away of any car show i have attended.

              Re: Bloomington Gold

              Steve Bramati's 67 red/white 435 coupe, Frank Tetro's 67 blue/black 435 convertible, Tom and Alisa Green's 67 black/black 435 coupe and Joe Demesy's 67 black/black 350 AC convertible were all beautiful and high scoring OEM Gold recipients.
The cars in the 1966 Special Collection were all fantastic examples.

Mr. Hendrick's 63 black/red ZO6 coupe was under our vendor tent, while it waited to go to the judging field.

David Sokolowski was busy, as usual, scouring for the good parts we all expect, from him.

It was great to see so many friends and familiar faces! I look forward to next year.

the negative was went to long each day could be shorten by a hour or so
could be shorten to Two days
there were no buyers Sat afternoon
but loved the location of the Show

Al, I had the 66 mosport green car judged there and you are right. You should still get a gold as long as they did not screw up the part about you declairing it a not oem . I would question it. I have some photos i will post if i can figure it out how to.

                      Hi Al,

Thanks for sharing your judging sheets offline. It appears BG made a tabulation error. Sorry this ruined your BG experience. I know the time and effort (not to mention the $$$) it took to prepare your car for judging. What a disappointment. Let's only hope Bloomington Gold makes it right...

                      Regards and Good luck,

                      Vince

Hi Albert, it was nice to see you at the show. I thought your car looked very nice. As for the point total, I believe that it is 8500 since you can lose 425 points and achieve a 95% for Gold.

After multiple attempts to post pictures from the iphone 6s, I uploaded from the desktop with (what I hope is) success.
I'll see how many pix I can attach at one time. If all works OK, I can post some more this week.

I've gone every year since 1990. Still my favorite Corvette show.

                            Enjoy!
