THANKS AL CURTIS NCRS # 18808
You can lose 425 points to achieve a 95% which is the minimum for Gold so based on that, every 85 points lost equals one percent. You scored approx. a 97.8 to 97.9. Hope that helps.

      Re: Bloomington Gold

Thanks Steve after 4 years of improving the car by entering it in two chapter events and one regional and getting top flights in all events correcting the deviations after each judged event. My son Kent and I entered our car at Bloomington Gold our score is total value loss 185. The Section Losses are Engine compartment 35 points , Chassis 10 points , Body & Wheels 50 points ,Interior 75 points, Tech 15 points Side pipes were to loud ?. I declared the engine NOM as per the STANDARS FOR GOLD CERTIFICATION item #3 on the front sheet of the certification forms this year witch states OWNER DECLARED NON-OEM REMAINS ELIGIBLE FOR GOLD . I have be trying to get hold of GAIL MANHAN by phone there web site must be down no one has answered my messages .I will send them copies of the judging sheets and a letter. AL CURTIS NCRS # 18808

        Re: Bloomington Gold

I would send an email to Guy Larsen as well to get to the bottom of this. As for the side pipes being too loud, aftermarket side pipes have a different sound than originals and an experienced judge can tell the difference pretty easily. Are your pipes GM or aftermarket?

I was told, by a NCRS founding member, that Bloomington Gold ,at one time , sold Gold certificates for $400. Is this true?

NOT that I ever heard of. Not even in the dark days after Dave. For a few years they did have judging for custom Corvettes.

Albert, On a C1 total points allowed is 7500 probably the same for 67 but not sure. Judging was in my opinion very critical. my 58 just scored 99.2 at Florida Regional. Bloomington scored 97.5???? No time allowed to discuss deductions which some were flat out wrong. Time is their main issue not quality judging. Thank god for the NCRS!!!

There were some beautiful 1967 Corvettes at the show, the three you showed above were standout cars.

                      Re: Bloomington Gold

Today 7/8/2016 I received a nice reply from GUY LARSEN to our request to review our judging sheets . Here is his reply.
                      ALBERT,
First let me thank you for bringing your Corvette to Bloomington Gold for certification Judging . Gail relayed to me that you had called and asked why your Corvette received a Silver Certificate instead of a Gold Certificate . I will try to explain our process and how that applied to your Corvette's judging.
I'm sure you have seen that in overall judging , YOUR CAR SCORED HIGHER THAN 95% OF TOTAL POSSIBLE POINTS ( THIS IS SHOWN ON TOP OF THE FIRST PAGE OF JUDGING SHEETS ). BY TOTAL POINTS IT QUALIFIED FOR A GOLD CERTIFICATE . There are several other sections or components that can preclude a Corvette from receiving a Gold , if the components are judged to not appear as typical factory production . These judging polices are explained in the Owners advisories procedures (page 5),and Engine Stamps Standards Guidelines (page 5 ) (I have attached below). One the BODY & WHEELS page of the judging sheet for your Corvette ,the judge determined that the HOOD PAINT / STRIPING APPEARED TO BE ONLY A FAIR FACSIMILE TO TYPICAL FACTORY PRODUCTION .This component was determined to have a HIGH GLOSS AND EXCESSIVE SHEEN . Following our protocol ,the body judge requested another judge to review his determination and that judge concurred with the decision . The Division Director also concurred with the judging decision . As a result of the high gloss and excessive sheen on the hood .,a SILVER Certificate is the award available for your Corvette .
I hope the above helps explain the judging determination .And again ,thank you for bringing your Corvette to Bloomington Gold Corvettes.

This is strange HOW CAN MY PAINT BE JUDGED APPEARS TO BE REASONABLY UNDETECATABLE NO POINT LOSS ON THE FRONT FASCIA/ PAINT PASS.FRONT FENDER/PAINT PASS.DOOR/PAINT PASS.REAR QUARTER /PAINT DECK/ PAINT DRIVER REAR QUATER/PAINT REAR FASCIA/PAINT DRIVER DOOR/PAINT DRIVER FRONT FENDER/ PAINT HARD TOP/PAINT IT IS ALL THE SAME PAINT ? The only thing the judge said about the hood paint was the striping on the nose was on top of the clear. And his is the only name on the judging sheet ? if he reviewed his deviation with the division judge or any other judges why are there no other names on the judging sheet to support his decision ? And yes my paint is clear coat base coat and was judged with no point loss ? . SO NO GOLD BECAUSE THE STRIPING ON THE NOSE WAS TO THICK ! That was a $$$$$$$ 4 days. Thanks I will stick with the NCRS judging guide and our judging.

I am sorry I did not see either you Steve or Mark. I was very busy with the 66 COLLECTION of 50 Anniversary cars, especially the RACE CARS. We had a great collection of 8 very rare historically significant 66 Corvette race cars. And two original owner drivers, DOUG BERGAN with his 66 black saddle 427/ 425hp A/P car the ''8 BALL'' and HAROLD WHIMMS, original owner / driver of the red / black pilot L-88 car.

Such a treat to have these owner / racers with us to tell their stories. I wish we had a sound system so the stories could have been shared easier. Next year, Guy promises improvements. They say 40 special 67's will celebrate the 50 year exhibition. This year the 16 other cars were the best of the best built in 1966.

I enjoyed the show and swap, and spent time with the 65 fuel injection cars. Three new entries in our 65 FI SURVEY. We now have 594 of the original 771 made in the SURVEY.

Chris Piscitello had a great 65 red / red FI 43000 mile convert rhat scored BENCHMARK. All three cars, Frank Pelly's black / silver coupe, and Greg Horton's red / red coupe with drum brakes scored Gold.

Had dinner twice with Bill Stephenson. Have not seen Bill since 2002 when they stopped making the T Shirts. Enjoyed Howard Goerhing from Mesa, AZ and his old friend Dr. Larry Dixon who owned the white / black 66 big block in the collection.

My old great friend Jack Murray from San Diego flew to my new home in Bandera Texas. We drove up for a fun week together. Many laughs......jokes and stories. It's the people guys, remember the FUN is the people and the cars come with it.

REMEMBER, ''We are not here for a long time, but for a good time''
