    67 roadster deck lid striker

How do I rivet the rear deck lid striker plate on a 67 roadster?

    Thank you,

    Randy

    Randy,

I use this slightly modified riveting tool and a bucking bar to replace them.

As that is a delicate and difficult area , I was instructed to just J B Weld the three rivets into place to hold the striker .
      Works so far !

        Randy -

That stainless wear plate was designed to be riveted (with semi-tubular stainless rivets) in the rabbet area of the gutter way back in the off-line rear clip bonding fixture.

          John,

You said the "wear plate was designed to be riveted (with semi-tubular stainless rivets)", were they ever actually installed that way? I have only ever seen them installed with solid aluminum rivets (at least that is what they appear to be).

          Thanks
          Daniel

Has anyone used the Aero Rivet tool to attach the deck lid striker? I was wondering if it fits. It looks like it could work on the two side rivets but not sure about the upper rivet.
