      David,
      Why do you have to weld one of the plates to the leveler? Looks like if you're running bolts through both plates and the upright part of leveler, your 2 plates could both be "loose' and held in place by the through bolts. Where am I going wrong and missing something?

        Thank The long plate is the one that is welded to the leveler and the short plate just bolts to the other side of the carb plate. Dave

          Hate to be dense, but while I see essentially what you did, still a little confused. You first said BOTH plates were 3x5 but then said something about "long plate? Same size or not? Still don't see why you have to weld one the plates you've cut to leveler in bolts run through both anyway, unless just more convenient to have one in place rather than having to fiddle it up into space next to vertical part of carb plate.
