Gents I would like some clarification on the size of the black washers for the squirters on the cowl. Should they be the same size as the squirter base? Is there a procedure to make this correct? I got a deduct at the last regional and would like to rectify this problem..... Thanks

Re: C2 washer squirted washers
Enzo, Don't quote me on this but I thought that someone here on the TDB said the rubbers washers were square cut and the small block chevy. valve seals were correctly sized. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

The gaskets don't stick out beyond the nozzle. I just got some from LIC, they are just right.- Top

Re: C2 washer squirted washers
Paragon sells washers that are the correct size as well but.... regardless where you get them from be careful when tightening the squirter down, the rubber washer compresses easily and will protrude beyond the circumference of the squirter base if you over-tighten it ---- and it doesn't take much to do that.Ed- Top

Re: C2 washer squirted washers
Enzo,
Just use an exacto knife and very carefully trim the excess rubber. Takes two minutes (recommendation is to do this while NOT under the influence of caffeinated beverages due to hand shake....lol). Otherwise, you can scribe the gaskets while on the car, remove and trim excess/protruding rubber and re-install. The gaskets, as posted already, should not protrude past the base of the squirter....Best to my Canadian friends....ARA- Top

Re: C2 washer squirted washers
Hi Ara, have you tried this process ? One has to be very steady and you don't have a second chance... Apparently there is a note in the new 65 judging manual to check if washers have been trimmed to take a deduct ? I would rather buy correct washers and not take any chances to scratch my wonderful paint job...Enzo Colosimo

My apologies Don, I did not mean to make a false statement... I took a friends comment and I guess I misunderstood ... I will simply buy the washers fro LIC and go from there... Thanks for your commentsEnzo Colosimo

The sharp edges described in the new manual are edges on reproduction nozzles.- Top

Re: C2 washer squirted washers
So how does that fit into the "CDCIF" process? A special consideration for "65" only? It's only a 3/3 item, so to take 1 on original side seems like double dipping plus! So if one has a repo washer nozzle the C &/or D could be at risk also. Again, does anyone have pictures of originals?- Top

Here are some pics of a 30k-mile 67. Never removed. The best I could do for photos.
