    Re: Wayne Womble

Absolutely SHOCKING! We're really going to miss Wayne on this board. I've learned a lot from him about Corvette bodies and paint, two subjects that I'm really weak in. So, one of my great opportunities for learning here is now gone.

Wow, what sad news. My deepest sympathy to his family. Wayne built the front end on my '64 coupe. His legacy will be carried on by all the members of the corvette community that he has touched throughout the years.

                Re: Wayne Womble

It was indeed sad news when I heard that Wayne Womble had passed away. I did not know Wayne as well as some of you but I did have the pleasure of having him to do the body work on my '56. I brought him a car that had not only been wrecked and cobbled back together but also had extensive UV damage. When I picked up the car I felt that Wayne had outdone himself. The job was outstanding and I was in awe. Wayne's time table was also outstanding. It was certainly a pleasure doing business with him. He was definitely a craftsman in his own rite. He helped myself and many others to have their dream of having their Corvette restored to come closer to reality. I picked up my car in July of 2009. It has since been painted and the restoration nearly completed. I think of Wayne when I look at it. I communicated with him on this forum about 2 weeks ago. It is hard to believe that he is gone. I send my condolences to his family. Brooks Glover Jr. (2141)

Wayne was a friend to many NCRS members for many years and probably the most knowledgeable person on Corvette bodies in the world. He will be missed by many people and our hobby.

This is truly sad. I was planning on stopping by his shop in the spring to get some help with a door skin problem.

                        My condolences to the family.

It is with great sadness, I have just been made aware of the passing of my friend Wayne Womble. Wayne and I go back to early 1972. He invited me to join Corvettes International in Raleigh, NC. Wayne, helped me with a '59 Corvette that I had bought, he worked on my '72, he worked on both my '79s and he did work on my '66. Wayne was a Good man and a Good Friend. Rest in peace My Brother

Helped many times with his excellent Knowledge and experience.
Will think of him each time we reference the pictures he was willing to send to document originality.
