It is with the saddest of hearts that I make this post. My best friend in the world Wayne Womble passed away this morning of a very unexpected massive heart attack. Wayne was a friend to many NCRS members for many years and probably the most knowledgeable person on Corvette bodies in the world. He will be missed by many people and our hobby.

Re: Wayne Womble
I'm really sorry to hear that...
I just bought an NOS Rear Side Exhaust Valance from him about 6 months ago... I had never met him but had seem him post about fiberglass related issues here on the board... I just called him up out of the blue and asked him if he had one and he said "Yep, I have two... You want the best one or the next best one"... Was quite a character... He sure helped me out and had no reason too...
RIP, Wayne... God Bless You and Your Family...

Re: Wayne Womble
Wayne had worked on C2 many times and always had done fantastic work. In fact, just about a week ago I went to him to have a bent main drive gear in my headlight motor replaced. Condolences to his wife, son Jeffery and daughter. Will miss talking to Wayne at his New Hill location.

Re: Wayne Womble
A great loss to the Corvette hobby and a great loss to all of us that knew Wayne. Had many great conversations with Wayne and he did me many favors. He guided me to a 63 front surround for my Resto-Rod as I had approached him to build me one. He said, " Joe if it were me I'd go down and buy that 63 front end." I did and he lost a sale, but that was Wayne!!
Rest in Peace old friend!

Re: Wayne Womble
Heard the news earlier today about Wayne. Such a great loss to hobby. I have known Wayne for over 30 years, what a guy!!!!He will be sorely missed by many.I know very few who had the knowledge of the C1, C2, Corvettes that he had. No matter where you saw him, he would take the time to talk with you and share insight if needed. I considered Wayne a great friend as Jimmy stated earlier. Such a loss to everyone! R.I.P.- Top
