First my car is a 71 LS5 and the wing harness that went to the alternator plug had been cut and new wires spliced in by previous owner, only the last 6 inches. I unwound the tape and cut the splice in piece off and soldered in two new wires to match the color and size of the original ones. In the wiring schematic it shows a brown one and a black with white stripe. It also says that the brown wire is a resistance wire, different schematic for same year says it is a fusible link wire. I checked the resistance and none shows up and did,t see any fusible link. These are the two wires in the white plastic plug on the alternator. If anyone can help would be appreciated.
Also the bolt that holds the metal bracket to the rear of the alternator with wiring harness, need head markings for that. Thanks
