I agree with Paul....this is the second year of the new venue and not sure if it is well received. My feelings is Old Town Kissimmee had more pluses than Lakeland. Maybe the Florida Chapter will re-visit this change in venue?

Due to weather we did not make it to the event. I understand that the wind gusts were up to 20mph. The hangers are nice to prove the cars and earlier this year I went to a swap meet there and the turnout was low then (with great weather).

Many people would love to display their cars at NCRS regionals, but can't commit to the time needed for an actual Duntov Display etc. If there was a way to remove cars that were not actually being judged from the judging field at the end of each day, I would have gone up for a day with my 69. Maybe next year.

I understood there was a three year contract with Sun n Fun and the meet was to return to Old Town in 2018?

I have never been, but if the judging is now indoors and the cars are protected in the new place, that seems much better than outside on wet grass like I had heard about the old place.

The event needs to be at a location where you have the largest captive audience. Having it in the middle of nowhere is not in this organizations best interest. Why not work out a deal with Mecum and have it in conjunction with his auction?

Partnering with auction houses may drive traffic and interest: Earn your Top Flight on Saturday; auction it on Sunday.

A side effect- How many more cars will be judged for market value reasons vs. love of the car? Maybe NCRS can market Flight awards as a thorough pre-auction inspection report.

It really is not the job of NCRS to verify a cars authenticity. Members have their cars judged for a variety of reasons, some do it for love and pursuit of perfection while others do it for financial gain. Having the event alongside an auction will not change that. I suggested having it with the Mecum Kissimmee event simply because it gives NCRS the best chance to showcase what they are about with the largest captive audience available.

Yesterday morning between traffic duty and car duty, I managed to get some of the cars in pictures. I had to stop for a while and never got back to all of the cars. I was unable to get the remaining and I'm sorry I didn't get them all.

                          Here's what I got......

This year was my 37th year to attend the Florida NCRS Regional! I missed one when my son Daniel was born.

I have enjoyed every one of them for different reasons. Most of all the people and the shared interest we have in Corvettes.

I salute the Florida Region for enduring for 38 years working in the cold wind and rain this year for the enjoyment of all who attended.

Sorry I missed seeing some of you but enjoyed the Corvettes.

Forgive the dismissive remark. I actually believe partnering with an auction house would be an interesting experiment. It would add a new dimension to the event and maybe introduce NCRS to new folks.
