Nice to see a late C3, those are usually rare.

That's also what happened at the Lone Star Regional in October, but rain and bad weather in the area contributed to that.

The bad weather has passed and the wind chill is up. Tomorrow will be a great day to spend with friends new and old. I will post pictures in the evening.

We were there on Thursday. The vendors were way down as well. I really miss Old Town. Hotels and restaurants were right in the area and there were more interesting things to do in that area. Having the judged cars in the hangar is a plus. The Lakeland area is desolate. At least there is less traffic, but the event won't survive if it keeps going in this direction IMO.

Well Cypress Gardens is Legoland now so that's a non-starter.
The hangars are nice (especially with this crazy weather) and more secure but the location is not central to anything.
I think the distance from the Mecum auction hurt attendance a bunch. Not easy to ping-poing between the two locations now.

Phone friends told me last night, that they are going back to the ''OLD TOWN'' location. The new owners want NCRS back. I think next year, things will return.

Jim, I had heard that rumor and I hope it's true. I think that would revitalize the event.

You want to go back to the Saralogo Hotel at Old Town? That place was a dump!
I'm glad they moved away from that place.

I learned their were 19 no show cars so the total their was less than years past. The swap meet had as many vendors as old town I thought. Rain on Friday caused some vendors to pack up but the weather was nice Thursday and I found some nice parts. I stayed about five miles away from the meet and their were plenty of places to eat.

                                Re: Lake Land Regional Meet

I was at the meet Thursday and Friday. I had mixed feelings about the venue. Liked the cars being judged in hangars, there were certainly some nice ones, but it seemed like there there weren't very many cars there.

The swap meet was a significantly less interesting than Kissimmee. Maybe that's a factor of more and more good stuff getting sold in ways other than swap meets these days. Most swap meets are not what they used to be, but it also seemed a lot of new part vendors weren't there either.

The whole thing seemed a little bleak, with not much character in the surrounding area. I was at Kissimmee for many years and enjoyed it, but I probably won't go to Lakeland again. I hope NCRS also chooses to go elsewhere. Just my 2 cents (in a day when 2 cents isn't worth a whole lot)...
                                Mike
