Re: 67 E Brake Console
This is not on the original topic and probably should be a separate thread. But to continue, I have not gotten to the shoulder belt part of my resto, so I went to my storage area and pulled out the buckle storage pockets and screws. What I thought was a collared screw is a chrome tapered phillips screw with a small very old looking thin washer. The judging manual, the AIM, and the retail sellers I checked all say that pocket is only held by two small chrome tapered phillips screws. That is pretty flimsy for sure. I do think my car (67 #1866) did have the chrome screw with washer. I found a restored car by Bob Humphries in my files showing him using the screw with small washer to back it up. Which makes me ask where did he get the idea to use a washer unless it was there because it is not in the AIM. I also checked the 66 AIM and the screw number "192" is the same as the 67 and without a washer too. I placed my screws on the 67 AIM in the picture below. Also placed there is an original radio side panel screw just because it was brought up.
