    67 E Brake Console

Looking for guidance on changing my e brake console. There are screw studs molded to the original console. Do these receive nuts or just sit on the sheet metal ? Any pics would help also... Many thanks

The studs retain the u-shaped trim and the rear bracket to the console. Pal-type nuts are installed on the studs.

        Enzo,

AIM UPC 1 (ASM) Sheet F12 has the details of assembly, and in View A detail, it shows the Pal nuts, Item #9, for the 4 studs Joe mentioned.

Enzo I would suggest you order one thought the NCRS store along with the judging manual and GM service manual before you really start working on your car. they come in handy more then you think

Gary, In the above photo there are 2 screw holes(edit.... upper 2 small holes, not the large 2 for the console), which I presume are for the buckle pocket used for the RPO A85 Shoulder Harness.

Would you happen to have the original screws which hold the pocket, and could you post a photo of them for me?

                    Thanks,
                    Rich
p.s. Enzo, when I find my camera I'll shoot a pic of the AIM page for you.

Keith, there are 2 above those, smaller. I edited my post. I've never seen what the original screws looked like. I added A85 to the above '67 as it was a National requirement in the country it resides in.

Rich....Here is the shoulder belt buckle pocket still mounted on top of the original carpet of my 67 coupe. I am thinking it was never off the car as the carpet is original. However, I have two different screws. I would guess the screw on the right with the collar would be the original...but the one on the left side does not show any mark for the collar that the right side screw has.

The screw on the right looks to be a radio side panel screw the left looks like a countersunk trim screw. I never looked at a real shoulder belt car so I can't tell you what's right or wrong
