Very sad news..I valued his advice in many areas, especially in shooting lacquer paint. My prayers are out for the family. The loss of a loved one is always tough but especially tough in the Christmas season.

So sad, big loss to the hobby... He spoke to me and my friend at a regional and told us the NCRS was a great place to make friends and great Corvettes.... RIP in Corvette heaven

Sorry to hear this; I also did not know Bill personally but felt strong connection. As a long time 396 owner I looked forward to his many posts regarding these cars. My thoughts and prayers to his family. RIP

We are thinking of Connie and Bill's family. Sorry to loose a guy like Bill...

            Re: Bill Williamson

When I saw this thread a few weeks ago I was shocked to the point of not being able to comment on it.

Never having met Bill in person it was difficult to express what a sense of loss I felt. Bill was always quick to answer any painting question I threw at him on the TSB and from what I gather he was a hands on guy who did all the work himself and never with a profit motive. Something rare in this hobby today, and a Real Corvette Guy!

On occasion I would find a 396 VIN for his registry from a car I found online. I don't think I never sent him on he didn't already have. Let's hope that when the shock from his sudden passing is gone all that work can live on.

It sounded like Bill had recently retired and finally found time to work on his beloved 396. If I understand correctly from some of his posts, he had bought his 396 in either the late 1970's or early 80s and the car sat for many years. It was a former drag racer with flared fenders and he had completed the body with all GM NOS fiberglass. It's extremely troubling and sad that he was never able to complete his dream car.

RIP Bill and I'm sure you will be winding out that L78 to the redline in Corvette Heaven.

            Mike

              I'll miss Bill's wisdom.

Please take the time to google and find your nearest heart/stroke hospital- or teaching hospital. Hospitals are NOT all the same. The closest hospital to my house is a death trap. Don't trust the ambulance driver. Tell your spouse.
