Used this process a few months ago to change both upper shafts when rebuilding the front suspension and it worked like a champ.

When I did my 60 I absolutely used every piece of information from Tom that I could get. I used his instruction on the steering box, rear (putting a newer style Eaton posi unit into an original C1 posi carrier) and rebuilding the front suspension.

A trick I learned was to use gun-blue to darken the component following bead blasting. I've used both liquid and paste. You don't have to leave it on the piece too long then wash it off and dry it. Even out the finish with some 00 steel wool and then clear coat with Eastwood's satin clear.

Tom, nicely done write-up on rebuilding front suspension. Tried sending you a PM, since this post is two years old. Had several questions for my 62.
