    1964 300HP intake manifold detailing

    Hi all,

I have a few wire and tubing clips not exactly sure where they are mounted on the intake manifold. Two are wire harness clips, the other is the tubing clip which sits next to the carb. I want to be sure I get all these in the right location. Can anyone post a picture of the top of the engine without the air cleaner in place as a reference?

    Thanks,
    Greg

Greg, The wiring clips generally mount to the pass. upper valve cover bolts, the vacuum tubing clip mounts to the center /rear intake bolt on pass. side.

On a 300 hp engine the two clips should be a part of the drivers side valve cover and the wire runs to the temperature sender. Which is under the thermostat housing.

Well guys, I do have the clips attached to my driver side valve cover. The clips I am referring to are mounted onto a bolt somewhere, maybe they do not belong on the intake manifold at all. They are about 2 inches long with about a 3/4 in. loop to hold the bundle or maybe it is for tubing. Not sure if they were even in the right place to begin with but I failed to make a good note when removing them.

Any pics of the top side of a 300 HP engine out there?

Why not just post pictures of what you have?

3720 Carburator1.jpgI don't believe that part belongs on a 63 300 hp intake. I am posting an old picture of my intake

                Greg, Bob,

The clip does not belong on a 63 300 horse intake manifold but I believe it is correct for a 64 65 300hp manifold holding the PCV hose.

Double check the AIM to be sure.

It is shown in my 1964 AIM. My problem is it is not that clear which bolt it is mounted to as it is existing from engine assembly. I think it is the forward bolt of the two center bolts as the other one I was told will hold the vacuum advance tube clip. I just want to be sure before I assemble them and touch up the paint.

                    That is correct.
