    67 Brake pressure switch

    HI:

Back in June of this year there was a very long and informative thread regarding the rebuilding of a master cylinder and pressure switch for a 67 Corvette...

One of the photos showed a part number on the pressure switch but some of the responses indicated that there were no numbers --

The number is 2225781 ---- on two lines --- the front flat area has a "57" stamped into the body of the part --- there is also a "47" stamped in the bottom of the part toward the rear.

Here is the photo from my 67 coupe ---

The question is are these original switches?? I believe they are --- two sources of original parts have these exact parts with the same numbers in place being sold as cores ---for a 67 ---

    Thanks for any input ---

    Regards
    Bill

      Yes Rich --- thanks!!

That was great article --- and I noticed that you had a photo of the 22225781 pressure switch --- do you believe it to be an original?

      Thanks!!

Yes Bill I believe it is, as well as the master cylinder which I had re-sleeved. The other one may have been replaced as I don't see the big 47 on top.

I have one off my 67 coupe that looks like it has the 222# stamping on the side with the bolt ,on the opposite side is a very clear 43 stamping. I don't know if this is original or not,but the car has been off the road probably since the mid 70's so I think it could be original. Hopes this helps Jeff
