    Martin Milner (1931-2015)

Martin Milner of "Route 66" fame and later "Adam-12" passed away, yesterday, at age 83. No cause was announced.

As a young teenager it was so cool to see a couple of guys traveling around the country in a new Corvette. What life could be better? Not too many years later I was doing the same thing on several cross country drives after I finished my undergraduate work. Route 66 cemented my desire to drive a Corvette, and I'm sure that many others in my age group were similarly affected.

Supplying the Corvettes for that series was a marketing bull's eye!

Martin Milner, who starred on TV on "Adam-12" with Kent McCord and, earlier, on "Route 66" with George Maharis, died Sunday night. He was 83

That is so sad, that show gave me the first glimpse (and craving, though there was no way to afford such and expensive car in those days) of the Corvette when I was a teen, and we had none in my little town growing up. RIP Martin.

RIP, Martin Milner. I think of Todd & Buzz every time I'm in my '62.

I was just a touch young to catch Corvette fever from Marty and George as Tod and Buz, but I caught law enforcement fever from Marty's portrayal of LAPD officer Pete Malloy. Marty had the same sort of serious professionalism that Jack Webb personified in Dragnet, and so was cast in the role. Jack Webb and Martin Milner inspired many young men in my age group to join up. It is another sad day following hard on the heels of Dick Guldstrand passing away. Sure hate to lose these iconic heros of our past.

Sorry to hear this. That Route 66 show really got me into Corvettes as a youngster. The lure of the open road in a Corvette was very enticing to me. I also remember Martin Milner on Adam 12. Not sure if that enticed me into police work but I ended up in it like you did Don.

          RIP.

I'm very sorry to hear this but I've kind of been expecting it for quite some time. Some time ago I learned that Martin was in poor health and living at Motion Picture Actors convalescent home in the LA area.

              Sad news.

Whenever I heard the theme song I always ran to the TV when I was a kid. My favorite ever Television memory.

This one's got a nice video of Buzz and Todd to go with the song.....

I missed most of the Adam-12 series as I was driving my new 62 just like he did. R.I.P. Martin

I would have absolutely not missed watching Route 66 on our old 21" Admiral B&W TV on Sunday evenings. Dad watched it along with me but Mom generally would spend the hour catching up on her reading. Oh my, how I yearned to finish school and get out into the workforce to earn the dollars to buy a car. It felt like I got to know Buzz and Todd personally after watching the 66 series for several seasons. The loss of Martin Milner represents another part of my youth being stripped-away,.....there's been way too much of that for me lately.
+ Rest in peace Mr. Milner and thank you for all of the wholesome entertainment you provided us with through the years.+
