I have raced my '60 FI many times over the years and have held the NCCC 1/4 mile National Record three times. It is a totally stock standard bore 283, FI, and 4:11 or 4:56 gears (used both). The best time I have ever turned is 15.03. My biggest problem is I keep breaking things! Don H. PS I'm very surprised they let you run with the caps on the wheels.

I found some old Car Life magazines with contemporary road tests. July 69 has many Corvette road tests. L-46 ran 14.55 @ 98 mph with 4.11 rear which was about the same a L-89 automatic with a 3.36 rear. Tires were clearly a big limiting factor. The August 1970 issue had a test of an LT-1 turning 14.17 at 102 mph with a 4.11 rear. I think your 96 mph run shows your car has the same power as the contemporary test vehicles which were probably well tuned. I think the quarter miles speeds are more indicative of the performance in these old tests than the times because of poor tires and driving variability.
