My 2 1970 Corvettes have the original rocker moldings & neither one has & doesn't look like there was ever a screw hole where one was. The LT-1 coupe has original paint & the 454 conv. had one repaint by me. I wonder if it was not needed or used at assembly. Do all later years have the tab & screw or is it cut off like the OTC ones?

Re: 1970 rocker molding front tab screw
Ken
was your car an early build?
maybe they were skipped and did not start till later 70....
my 72 did have the screw and j nut
I was first person to take it apart.
The tab was on the rocker moldings till 75 or 76 ( I think)

Re: 1970 rocker molding front tab screw
Any 70-72 original car I have seen has the J nut and screw. Could be a cross recess or an indented hex nut with integral washer. 70's seemed to have cross recess and later 70's and newer seem to be predominately hex head.- Top

i'm sure that will be corrected in the new JG. My 1971 #16798 and #21467 both have the hex heads and many other 71's have been seen with them as well.- Top

Re: 1970 rocker molding front tab screw
Thanks Dave. I could be remembering wrong too. JG may already have '71s with them. I just can't tell because I'm away. BTW, my '72 is a very early car, featuring numerous components and features that were part of the commonly known '72 features, showing that coordinated obsolescence wasn't a high priority then, a it is now.Don Lowe
