The new reproduction gear that I got from Paragon does have it. As I understand from talking with a manager from Paragon, there is only one manufacturer making these gears now. If that is correct then he is supplying all vendors.

That may explain why there is a difference now in the part you recieved. As an aside, without the stop feature the same gear would work in either the left or right hand regulator. You might call AFC and ask anyway.

Does the machined gear from Americas Finest have the stop feature built into the gear to keep it in the range of opening and closing like the original GM gear? In the past this feature was missing.

No, it doesn't have the stops. I foolishly bought some and ended up throwing them in the trash. The repo. ones from Paragon work perfectly if you're willing do a little work.
