License Plate Under Driver Bumper in 67

In 1967 there were a few cars that had over heating problems. On these specific cars I am thinking of, GM mounted the licence plate under the passenger side bumper to allow more air flow through.

Does anyone have pictures on how it was actually done and what kind of a bracket was used.

    Thanks,

In 1969 I bought a 1967 Convertible. It was a 400, powerglide with C60. The license plate bracket was mounted
under the LF bumper. I believe that GM did not want to restrict the airflow to the 3 Coolers. Radiator, transmission and
AC condenser. This is the only combination that I have seen with this unique bracket.

I agree with David and keith , Only Big Block, A/C, and auto got the offset, and probably not all of them ! It was on the Drivers side and looked something like this

          Thanks guys,
I was aware of when they did it and why, I have that car, but there is not a plate bracket, or holes for that matter on the car/bumper. That is why I asked for pictures of the bracket and how it was mounted.

I do not have a 67 AIM yet. My guess is there is a page in there on it, but a real picture sometimes is a more clear.
For some reason I was under thew impression it was on the passenger side, but according to your picture I was wrong about that.

          Thanks for the input guys.

It mounts the drives side bumper bracket that comes through the grill. There is a drawing intge AIM under RPO C60 with dimensions on where the holes go. Can you tell us more about your car. Big block auto and AC is a rare combo I just got done restoring the black one in the picture this spring.
