    Manual shutoff valve

Will one 5/8" heater hose valve on the hose from the manifold keep all the hot water out of the heater core, or should I also put a 3/4" shut off valve on the hose from the waterpump to the heater core? I prefer using the Manuel shutoff valves for my BB a/c system. Dutch

Only one valve is required. Either hose can be used, whichever is most convenient.

One word of caution. Lack of coolant circulation can cause localized corrosion (in the heater core in this case), so it's a good idea if the valve has a "pinhole" leak to allow very slight circulation when the engine is running or open it for a couple of minutes once every month or two.
