How well does the reproduction firewall insulation fit on a C2

Has anybody installed the reproduction firewall insulation for a 63. How well did it fit. Did it fit all the curves and dips as it should. What vendor did you buy from, thanks.

I have put the f/wall insulation in a couple of 65-66s and one of the holes in the driver side piece that a retaining plug goes thru never lines up with the hole in the center piece of insulation. These would have come from either Corvette Central or Long Island.

Some of the jute material I seen is gray in color instead of the original tan.

Page, A set I installed a few years ago on a '67 was that. I just couldn't do it.

I decided to make it look more original by splicing in pieces from the original tan jute backing. Tedious, but the gray just didn't look right and it looked better when I was done.

BTW, the fit wasn't that great around the firewall pedal brace. I had to trim it a bit.

Sure has some deep creases. What is the board made of. ABS plastic or some kind of vinyl.

It's more like pressed cardboard.

Yes it's a thick cardboard with a tar-paper like texture. It must be made in some type of 2-part mold, probably heated. Very expensive so it must be a unique process.
