1965 E Brake handle shaft removal

I am cleaning the e brake assy. and I want to remove the brake pull shaft . It has a pin to stop the travel that appears to be pressed in . Can it be pulled out or is there threads . I thought I'd ask before I broke it .

Good idea to ask first I didn't ask and broke the pin on my car. It is pressed in and can be driven out. Just don't twist or it will break.

That's How I remember mine, pressed in .Straight in and Straight out . The Square top is only for alignment to the switch , it is not a bolt head.

Hi,
I'm doing the same thing on my 63 E-brake handle. I'm looking at it, and wondering what the best way is to get the pin out? Any advice, since you just did it? ; )

Wayne . Im not sure about a 63 but on my 65 there is a hole on the bottom side of the housing so you can drive the pin straight out .

Thanks Bill - that appears to be the same with my '63. I'll give it a go this weekend...
