    67 flasher bracket position

My March 67 convertible had a flasher held in a bracket screwed to the drivers side radio side panel as shown in the pictures. I don't remember a flasher in that location on other 67's I used to own, but the bracket looks like a factory made piece. Is this flasher for the 4-way flasher. Where should it go if this bracket is not factory?

Pat, That's for the round 323 flasher. Yellow, plastic, NON-DOT. Also need capacitor with blue/gray (IIRC) paper insulator. ARA

Ara--- Is this an original bracket in the correct location? Or should the flashers you mentioned be mounted under the dash somehow. The flasher that was in the bracket had a clear cylindrical housing that allowed you to see inside of it, so it must have been a replacement part.

Yes, but turn it 90 degrees so it's clocked up/down. The flasher faces with the top of the flasher downwards, the capacitor and paper insulator, then the wire connection.

Thanks Ara. I never noticed this bracket in the four other 67's I had over the years.

Here is the bracket and flasher in my 67. The Judging Guide (5th Edition) states "A turn signal flasher is installed in a black phosphate plated metal clip on the driver's side radio side panel. The clip is attached with a single screw. Either Tung Sol yellow plastic, not painted yellow, #323 or Signal Stat #145 flashers were used." My car has the 145 Signal Stat, it still works

I apologize for hi-jacking this thread, but does anyone know who sells a correct flasher with the wax paper capacitor attached for a radio equipped car as pictured in the TIM&JG? I pretty thoroughly checked Paragon and LIC.

                    Hi Leif,
The capacitor is a separate item from the flasher. The capacitor is LICS part# 53-03F, pictured below. The flashers are non-DOT no longer made, repros are available but with DOT markings, originals show up from time to time on eBay, forum ads etc.
