I have a quick question about the installation of the water pump, fan and fan clutch installation as well as the starter. Were these installed at the engine assembly plant or at St. Louis on 1971 models with small block engines? Trying to determine if the dates on these components should be closer to the engine assembly date or the vehicle build date?

Re: Which factory installed the Water Pump & Starter?
Bob, I am pretty sure the engine build date is what your looking for those dated parts. since its a small block those parts are generally a few weeks difference from the stamp date on the engine, but could be few days later or closer.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

TIP: If the part number shows up in the AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual) the part was installed at St Louis.Terry- Top
