      Here's the procedure to do it (I hope it's the latest version):

      For an engine with a cast iron block and heads (maybe others too), I don't think there is any value added to doing the procedure with the engine hot or running. Hopefully, Duke will chime in with more info.

        Charles,

        Not too much knowledgeable on big blocks. But you might ask which is the best big block valve cover gasket for you to use.

        Good luck. Adjusting valves is not a big deal to do as long as you make sure you know where top dead center is.

        The other item that you need to know is which oil to use so the cam lobes won't flatten.
