    1958 Distributor

What is the difference between a 914 and a 908 distributor? Also what date did the change take place?

Benjamin, Consult with Don Baker & of course your Tim leader Tim Mickey on a more accurate date on the change over. I can report that the 908 was used to at least all of Jan 1958. At least is the key word.
I see a fair amount of restored '58 FI's cars running '914's when in fact that should have the '908.

You cannot go by the date on the ID tag of the '914's and use the distributor as such and call it correct.
For example we have seen early'914's dated 7J10, 7K25, 7M14, etc. Delco Remy was stocking up but they first used up a ton of the left over '908's. John D.
