In NCRS the car is judged not as from the factory - technically that is what Bloomington says - but rather after new car dealer prep. I'm betting that the same 99.9% of dealer prep procedures threw away the mats, so their absence is considered normal.
I'm waiting for the C7 cars to show up on the Bloomington field with the factory-applied car covers in place.

Thanks Patrick, you and Pat are correct. Thanks for the information.

They were to be removed before delivery and replaced with the carpet floor mats for the end retail customer. I would not judge these paper mats. I love to see them, but I guarantee that they were seldom in the cars when they were delivered to the customer. I was always the king of Corvette trash. I had many customers look at all of the stuff I saved in the car for them and thought I was crazy. LOL. Still do it to this day. When you get a new Corvette from me, you get a load of "Corvette Trash" LOL
So Tom, did the rug floor mats come from the factory or the dealer?

I have both the driver and passenger side Corvette Mats. These were in the Corvette when it came from the factory before dealer prep.

Judged item or not? This is your big chance to be a Judge.

The first photo is a photo of one of mine. The next two are from the same 1990 ZR1 that never had dealer prep.
Pat, I'm thinking of putting together a 100 question quiz based on the 1994-1996 JM, so we can use it to keep information fresh in our heads. As new information is generated, I can amend it. What do you think about this idea?

They were shipped in the car. Usually laying in the rear compartment. Still the same today.

Here are some other items that came with the 90's C4's. The door edge protectors. This is an actual set from a 92 coupe. How many of these made it into the customer's little owner stash at delivery ?

Several of these items shown were on my 95 (Dec. 94) when it came off the truck; still have them. Except the bottle of car wash. Dealer did not wash my car in prep. I don't believe it had any coating on it to be washed off.

Tom, here is a photo of the door protectors. They were both on the same side. I guess they wanted to make sure the transport diver did not bang the door when he got into the Corvette when it was still on the shipping truck.

Again this photo is off the 1990 ZR1 that never went into dealer prep.

I have a set of these door guards. I got them from a famous Corvette Salesman in St. Marys Ohio.

The 90 guards are much larger than the later ones ones were. Ken. I think by 95, we were done with the transit coating.

Here's what the steering wheel cover looked like from a 92. You read the tag. Judge it, or not ?? I love Corvette trash.

Very cool and it stated "customer removal only." Interesting...

Although I was a freak on leaving things put, I always removed the steering wheel cover to make sure the wheel was OK. I always tossed the wrapper into the back of the car for the customer. Only cars that i shipped out to the customers did I leave it on or re install it. They still wrap the wheels today with the same instructions. I peel 'em off. Just part of my pre delivery inspection.
