Car Wash Tag on Late C4s

Does anyone remember where this car wash tag was placed by the factory on the interior of the car when it was delivered? It does have a circle slot with a slit that could have been placed hanging.

Yea, the other side of the tag has the Anti-Lock notice.

Ed, what are your thoughts about the paper mats that came with the new Corvette?

I have both the driver and passenger side Corvette Mats. These were in the Corvette when it came from the factory before dealer prep.

Judged item or not? This is your big chance to be a Judge.

The first photo is a photo of one of mine. The next two are from the same 1990 ZR1 that never had dealer prep.

Pat, here's my opinion on these items. Since they came from the factory and 99.9% of the people don't have them and the JM does not call for it, maybe we can have a section where extra points are issued for these rare items (tags and protective materials). The car is suppose to be judged as it came from factory and I guess these items were included.

In NCRS the car is judged not as from the factory - technically that is what Bloomington says - but rather after new car dealer prep. I'm betting that the same 99.9% of dealer prep procedures threw away the mats, so their absence is considered normal.
I'm waiting for the C7 cars to show up on the Bloomington field with the factory-applied car covers in place.

Ed, the judging line is after normal dealer prep. I agree with Patrick about the dealer handling the mats. I will reach out to an individual that did the dealer prep on the new Corvette and get an answer.

I ALWAYS left he paper mats in the cars when I delivered them to the customer, but I know most dealers ditched them during prep. The paper mats were installed at the factory to keep the interior clean during time in the plant, transportation, and at the dealership. They were to be removed before delivery and replaced with the carpet floor mats for the end retail customer. I would not judge these paper mats. I love to see them, but I guarantee that they were seldom in the cars when they were delivered to the customer. I was always the king of Corvette trash. I had many customers look at all of the stuff I saved in the car for them and thought I was crazy. LOL. Still do it to this day. When you get a new Corvette from me, you get a load of "Corvette Trash" LOL

I'm surprised nobody has ever brought up the bottle of body wash they used to ship with the cars to remove the transportation coating they put on the cars back in the early 90's. I'm sure I still have a bottle of it at home from a 91 ZR1. They sprayed some dull stuff on the cars and we had to wash it off when they arrived from BG. Every car had a bottle in it. You mixed it up in a bucket of water and the solution broke down this coating. I can post a picture if anybody is interested in seeing one. Can't remember for sure if it was all cars, or just certain colors, or just ZR1's that this solution was shipped with. I know for a fact that the bottle I have was from a 91 ZR1.

Still at the office but will get one for you guys tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned for exciting Corvette trash. LOL. I just bought a collection of some goodies from a friend today. it included original seat plastic and original factory plastic steering wheel cover for a red interior 92 coupe. More junk for the attic. LOL
