Hello, I am restoring my 1963 SWC. It is the original alternator and an early 1963 car. The engine compartment is detailed well but the alternator isn't nearly as nice as everything else in the engine compartment. I would like to get it rebuilt and have it refinished ASAP. I have done some research and cant find anyone that can do this. I live in CT but can ship it wherever, as long as you guys recommend the shop or person. I really appreciate everyone's help and insight! You guys have been fantastic! Thanks, Dan

Re: Alternator Help 1963
Use caution here as restorers are known to use incorrect INA bearing for Torrington. Also diodes should not have a chromate s/b just zinc. The field steel laminations in 63 s/b black. Lastly the die cast case s/b as cast smooth finish no secondary surface finishing.- Top
