From what I understand they put a cb radio in them. And I think they moved them from car to car. As in cb was removed from this car and put in the guys 68 they got the next year.

What an amazing car, please keep the pictures coming. I hope you can preserve the car with cleaning rather than a restoration. Thank you for posting about your find.

Could this be a Bowtie car if you just clean it up carefully?

I judged a Shriner's car at the Charlotte Nationals a few years back. Wonderful show (other than it being 104 degrees under the grandstands judging). I met a SUPER nice gentleman who had a Shriners car. If I recall correctly, he was from Alabama?. I took detailed pics of his tank sticker. He removed his original tank and cut out the entire area surrounding the tank sticker so as to not disturb the sticker itself. Shoot me an email, and I can send you some pics of it. Wonderfully original car as well. Original weatherstripping, original pedal covers, original carpet, etc...Very nice car. Very nice owner. ARA. nyrfan@bellsouth.net.

Yes, I have talked with him last week. His car was built 4 numbers before mine. Very nice guy. He has sent me some more info on the cars.

Cleaned up OK, are you planning on restoring it or not?

It would be a shame to turn that car into a cream puff in my opinion. My white 67 (not a shriner car) is right on the middle of the VIN sequence so it seems there was a large batch of white cars at that time...

The tides are really turning on restoration. I have a '67 with 175,000 miles and the original paint is all there, but dull. People ask if I'm going to repaint the car and the answer is "absolutely not". The paint is only original once.

I get what you guys are saying, problem is that this car has been painted once. Everything else is real original, including spare, alternator, engine, carb, intake, distributor, exhaust, master cylinder and interior. Other than paint the only other things that I have found that have been replaced is tires, battery, starter and soft top.
