    Crack in 69 Shifter Console

What would be the best glue/technique to repair this crack in the shifter console? Luckily it does not affect the vinyl overlay. Thanks

    Roger,
I would put slow cure JB weld in the crack and saturate some fiberglass cloth with JB and cover the crack with the cloth.

I've used fiberglass cloth and resin to repair forward console substrate damage/cracks.

Agree with Joe. I have also used fiberglass mat and resin. Be sure to scuff it very well though.

            Fiberglass mat or fiberglass cloth?

Never cloth. Cloth is for boats. Mat is far better and far easier to use.

I've used cloth and it worked very well. However, mat may be better and easier.

I went with cloth, it's what they had at ACE. I've never worked with fiberglass, but it wasn't too hard. Roughed up the surface, cut out three patches and laid them on foil, spread the resin on the patches and crack, and laid them out on layers. Will see if it holds when the clamp comes off

Joe, it turned out great,, no movement with the clamp off. Sturdy when flexed open, thanks
