1963 Alternator Pulley for Fuel Injection

Looking for an alternator pulley for a non AC 63.

The question is it specific to 63 Vette only or are there other cars that had it on the alternator? Per the manul it is 3 5/8 wide with a 1/2 in grove opening. Sounds a bit generic to me...how can you tell for sure it is the correct pulley?

Mechanical lifter 327s used a specific large diameter alternator pulley in order to keep alternator speed under the 18,000 RPM design limit.

I believe the pulley diameters and actual drive ratios are in most year AMA specs that you can download from the GM Heritage Web site.

The pulley was as you describe. It was of GM #3829193. It was anything but "generic" as its only applications were 1963-64 Corvette with SHP and FI. As I recall, there is no part number stamped on this pulley but I could be wrong.

The 3829193 was discontinued in January, 1973 and replaced by GM #3871242. The latter was discontinued without supercession in 1988.

I once owned an original 3829193 pulley stamped "3829193 BF" back in the 1980's or 1990's that I probably bought at Corvette Carlisle. Before I sold it I made a scaled drawing of it.
