67 Corvette Idler Arm Boot Configuration

    Hi:
I have three different idler arm boot configurations. One is a rounded boot with radiused ribs on it, one has a stepped top portion, and one has a more flat top portion. Which one is most typical factory production for 67? I've included a picture showing all three configurations. Thanks so much for any inputs.

Tom, i believe the middle boot looks correct, I can look later when I get home. and tell you for sure, I am pretty sure that boot was the same for quite a few years, My 63 and my 72 both have original idlers.

        Thomas,
Here are some comparison photos to repo versus original idler arms. Like you I ordered a new boot too only to receive the replacement boot that was very far off from the original. In my case I was able to save the original.

          Steve,
You idler arm should be black up to just below the lower hole for mounting. The black is consistent with the rest of the steering linkage, a black goo....... It was all delivered to GM as an assembly.

Thanks everybody for the information. My boot is workable also, so that is what will be used.
