We are still early in the planning stage and have not talked to anyone other than those clubs we belong to. We do plan on Sat club parking areas, we have not worked out the logistics of seeing who would be interested and how to make it happen.Tyler- Top

I agree with Bill. Putting it in Lakeland is having it in the middle of nowhere. Trying to get the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee would have been a better idea. This is the location that Mecum used in the past few years. Maybe working it around their event would be a better option. At least doing this would give family members (the wives) something to do while we 'played' with our Corvettes.- Top

I have been to the fly in a few times. Was very happy the last two times that I had 4 wheel drive as the parking field was a mess with deep mud and cars that needed to be towed. This location should be great as it also provides attendees with Tampa (TPA), another major airport for arrival.- Top

Seriously, I'm going to miss the proximity to Disney and the Mecum Auction. I always take that entire week off and we make a vacation of it combining those three activities.'69 Blue/Blue L36 Vert w/ 4-Spd

2) I don't think Disney and/or Osceola Heritage Park have runways
3) An hour drive each way doesn't fit my definition of "proximity"
4) The Tigers spring games don't start until March
But I'll still be there and I'll probably get trailer parking duty.'69 Blue/Blue L36 Vert w/ 4-Spd

Re: 2015 Winter Regional Move to Sun & Fun property in Lakeland.
I'm sorry to say, at my age and physical condition, I will have to scale back my activities during that week. I used to Attend each day either with my son or by myself as the drive to Old Town was within my reach. I expect Now I will have to rely on my son and maybe get there on one day only. We've been to the flyin a number of times and I recall It took a lot of walking. It's too bad that the separation from the Mecum auction will put a damper on attendance at one place or the other.
I'm sure it was necessary to make the change, but it will not work too well for me. I know you won't see me driving my 63 on I-4. Guess it's time for me to scale back on the Corvette hobby.

Stu,
Yes, the place is large and gives the Florida Chapter room to grow. Check with Tyler as I'm sure there can be a scooter made available to you or anybody else interested. There are companies that would jump at the chance to supply rentals at Sun & Fun.
Looking forward to seeing you in January.

Parking will be within 100 yards of the event for Corvettes and an extra 50 for others. swap meet is right next to judged cars. They have 200,000 people and lots of planes at the flyin. Our whole event will be less than a sq mile. I been doing the events for 25 years and this site gives me a chance to address and correct the problems of previous years. Hotels are not on site but give it a few years and our event and Lance moving the zephyr hill event to this location will probably solve that. Give it a shot I think you will be pleased at the result. Everyone laments the fact there are no youngsters in the hobby. We are trying very hard to create an event that will bring these people into NCRS. A free Corvete show that show what we are about goes a long way.

I will miss the event at Old Town. It was nice to have the event within walking distance of the motels in the area. Are there any motels within walking distance of the new event location?- Top
