    Question on 57 4- speed build date

    In what month and approx. date and serial # was the first 4-speed put in a 57. Approx. when did the last 57 roll of the assembly line,month and date? Thanks john

    "About May 1" for first 4-speed, which would mean SN around 4650-4850 would be where the first 4- speed might be seen, out of total production of 6339 thru september

        The '57 TM&JG indicates that 4-speed availability started around May 1st, or approximately #3500; The earliest factory 4-speed that Noland's survey found years ago was #3567, built April 24th. My '57 4-speed is #4275, built May 30th.

            I have #25XX, it was propably one of the cars that got a GM conversion ovber the counter. The frame was stenciled late Jan. as well as the engine build date and the tail housing was April 25 and the body was 4 - 26.
