would a 3rd week of nov date carburator be acceptable for a nov 22nd built car.

Hum....
Why does the carb date have to preceed the engine assy date? I think the AIM shows carbs were installed at the final assy line point while engines were built/run-in at the engine assy plant without gasoline (propane fixture).... Hence, that would make it a 'race' condition with engines and carbs flowing separately from their respective mfgr sites to St. Louis with the luck of the draw being how/when parts were pulled from inventory.- Top

Hi Jack. Your right a carb doesnt HAVE to preceeed the engine asst date, but I feel it to be a good rule of thumb. The process in which these pieces come together, show time lag from production to assembly, and I find that the carb dates are very close to the assy date of the motor in most cases, Ex; a known orig 1967 motor with a T0327 build date has a 734 carb date and car built 4/25/67. Just my thoughts. Phil 8063- Top
