HIGH ZINC OIL

I JUST READ AN ARTICLE IN MY LOCAL NEWSPAPER ABOUT A GUY IN DATTON, OHIO WHO IS MARKETING A HIGH ZINC CONTENT MOTOR OIL FOR USE IN OLD CARS LIKE OURS.
IT GOES UNDER THE NAME "MOTORHEAD CLASSIC", THE VISCOSITY IS 15W-40, IT CONTAINS A MINIMUM OF 0.125% ZINC AND PHOSPHORUS. SINCE IT IS A DETERGENT OIL I ASSUME IT ALSO CONTAINS OTHER ADDITIVES.
HAS ANYONE OUT THERE USED THIS PRODUCT?

Seems like he is just repackaging CI-4 oil and marketing it at a premium.

Search the archives, there have been several discussions on this matter over the last few months, and a summary of GM testing within the last month or so...

Exactly, and something I suggested was easy for any enterprising individual to do.

CJ-4 and CI-4 oils are available everywhere - auto parts stores, Walmart, Costco, etc.

Just buy the cheapest CI-4 or CJ-4 you can find.

Bruce, Our local Walmarts carries the high zinc oil in two grades 10W30 and 15W-40. They have several brands of diesel truck oil and the price is right. I bet there are a 1000 posts here on the subject also. John

Dave your post reminded me of something I heard on a "home repair radio show" yesteday. The host who is actually in the business mentioned that sometime in 2008 that the electric outlets we have in our homes are going to be replaced. The replacements are going to have child-proof covers and will cost about $5.00.
