57 soft top only question

On soft top only cars-- should the convertible top compartment cover display an appx 7/8" hole in the underside stiffner panel at the point the rear center hardtop lug would be located were it a hardtop car.

Huh???? if there is a hole on each side it's access to the top shock nuts

Yes, it should--that was there in all, whether hardtop equipped or not. As you probably know, it was for access to put the nut on the backside of the hardtop hold-down mount.
