Roy, tapped on heater housing several times and in low the fan spins but how fast I don't know what it is supposed to rev at, but it does seem to work. Does mean the bearing or squirrel cage or motor windings and can one spray lube in their somehow to free things up if that is a cure? Thanks again Brad

          Re: 54 heater def. switch

OK it should spin about 1/2 at low or even less using 6Volts but if you needed to tap it to spin it may need lube,Old trick was to drill a small hole at the vary rear and shot some oil in it to free the bearing .
But the fact is it will run at a low speed . So it seems your switch is bad and not the motor. The switch does have a white ballast ?? It drops the volts to the motor to run at low speed
