Don't your original speakers have a pigtail with a connector attached? If so, why couldn't you just unsolder and transfer the pigtail to the replacement speaker?

        Joe,

My luck with deer and Corvettes is better than my luck with soldering, and you KNOW how well I've mixed those two.
I have never, ever, ever been able to solder despite multiple attempts. I don't even try anymore. I'll just be having a batch of speakers reconed instead as it's easier than having to fuss with soldering.

Remove the connector from the new speaker, and you can insert the metal tabs into the wiring harness of the car. No problem.
